I Get Knocked Down, But I Get Up Again!

Well hello... if anyone is still out there waiting to read my ramblings, I applaud you... it has certainly been a while.

Today I bring tales of pain, tales of fun, and tales of new beginnings....

When do you stop, starting over?

Good evening all,

It has been a while.  I can only apologise for my tardiness and assure you that had I have posted, it would not have been enjoyable to read but full of moans and self pity.....  Alright alright I hear you shouting at your computer screen 'nothing unusual there then!' and I agree.

Women's Running 10K Finsbury Park

Good afternoon,

As promised here is my race report from today's Women's Running UK 10K at Finsbury Park.  I ran this race last year, it was documented as a flat course... there is nothing flat about it, it is two laps of the park which has 4 noticeable hills in it.

Last year I completed it in 1:24:25 and I wanted to smash that this year, my most recent official PB was 1:15:00 at Regents Park and 1:13:57 flat 10k in training last week, I wasn't expecting to beat these but was looking forward to giving it a go.

Sinking in Quick Sand

Good afternoon my ever faithful readers... although I am unsure that anyone reads my rants anymore other than my coach Richard... still it helps me to write it all down.

So it has been a while again, and for this I appologise, but as the title states I have been sinking in quick sand.

Making Friends With Hills

Good evening!

So another week has passed, and another injury, crashed and burned at diet/no alcohol, made friends with hills and won some earmuffs to hold my bazookas... All will be revealed.

This weeks Long Run thought...

Its a beautiful sunny day, and it is lovely to meet friends and chat, BUT why the hell do you stand 5 people deep across a path, when there is grass fields on either side and there are people walking/running/cycling along said path!  AND no don't turn, look at me like I shouldn't be there and then get the huff if I run through you, I am not going to change my path when you are being the selfish ones!.....

Birthdays, Results and PBs

Good Evening Readers,

I am so sorry it has been so long!  The time has 'run away' from me .... boom boom!!  I have lots to tell you but first I wanted to share with you something...

I think I have told you that I no longer listen to music whilst I am out running, I like to just be with my own thoughts and take in my surroundings.  Well during my LSR I often come up with little sayings due to people I come across so here are a couple that I am sure some of you can relate to!

To the running snob:
I may not look like your typical runner, I may be slow,
but I guarantee that I am putting in just as much effort as you, if not more!

To those who do not acknowledge you:
If I smile at you, please have the decency to smile back, because smiling at you whilst trying to run my planned distance takes up so much effort it takes me far longer!

Losing Mojo and Hill Reps

Hi everyone.

I have finally managed to get the time to sit and write a post, it has been two weeks since the last one!  I am so happy to tell you that it has been a busy two weeks full of 100 metre sprints, 5k and 10k races, a couple of marathons, swimming and lots of new sports thrown in!

Running Through Fire!

Good evening!

I hope you have had a lovely week and enjoyed the hot sun... if you are a runner then maybe not.  It has been so hot it has felt like running through fire!  I am afraid I have had a pretty bad week, and feel like my recent posts have been quite negative, and I am sorry for that, but I guess its just how life goes...

What a week....

Good Evening!

What a week it has been, I am currently quite sun burnt, shattered and ready to hibernate for a moth or two!

Slowing it down

Good afternoon all,

I have not been particularly good this last week, due to a couple of factors, not being well and eating and drinking of the very bad kind!  Therefore my training was somewhat delayed in approach... however here is the run down.

Becoming Obsessed!

Good evening all,

I hope that your week has been good, and you are feeling well.  I have had an exhausting week, and am thinking I may have become a little obsessed!

Stepping Up

Good afternoon,

So this week I took on the challenge to step out and step up... I signed up to the Fitbit Parkrun Challenge Series.  The challenge is to take at least 10,000 steps per day, and as a parkrun community try to beat Paul Sinton-Hewitt (Parkrun Founder).  Each challenge lasts for 8 days.  The first one started yesterday and I was raring to go......

Midweek Madness

Good evening!

Do you ever have one of those weeks where it feels like its already next month, you can do nothing right, you are under valued and have no support and yet it is only Wednesday?  Well that is how it has been this week, and today got so bad I threw my laptop across a table!  So when you are feeling this bad there is only one thing to do, hit the gym and hit it hard....

Had I Have Listened Then....

Good afternoon!

I have to say I write to you in a state of euphoria having completed my local park run this morning 54 seconds faster than my PB.  But before I tell you all about it, I want to reflect on a few things from the past to help understand where I am now.
