Lets Start at the Very Beginning!

HI!

Welcome to the first post on the second blog in the Fatty Boom Boom series.... If you are visiting for the first time and know nothing about me you may like to pop over to the 1st blog and take a quick peek to help you understand the new journey I am about to embark on.

If you have been following me previously then welcome back and thank you for continuing to support me, it means so much to know that someone is reading my story.

So, the title of this post - 'lets start at the very beginning', words from a very wise lady.... Maria from the sound of music!! I went from 0 to marathon in 5 months, and although I loved and hated every minute of it, it was not enough time to really learn how to run.  Yes I got the distance in, but the quality was certainly not there.

So here I am starting at the beginning, and I need to start quick, in the 5 months I was training for London Marathon I lost 1.5 stone, in the last 3 weeks since completing it I have put 5lbs back on!

You will remember that during the Big Marathon Challenge, I was lucky enough to have my own personal coach who I often raved about - Richard Coates from Full Potential.  Their motto is 'Believe Run Achieve' which kind of tells my story, I believed, I ran, but now I want to achieve, achieve the best runner I can be.  SO I have decided I want to continue with Full Potential and am hoping to start a subscription with them at the beginning of June.

My Intentions this year (Not Goals as goals change):

I want to concentrate on the quality and speed of my 5 & 10K.
I want to lose as much weight as possible (I need to lose about 3 stone in total)

Week 1

Monday - rest
Tuesday - 5k Run 38:22, I went out quite hard for me, averaging around 6.40 per km whilst running, 5 minutes on 2 minutes off (walk) for the most, I think I did a 5 min stretch at 7 at one point.  I enjoyed it though, but did get a slight niggle in my left butt towards the end.  Which reminds me how much strength work I need to do this time.

Whilst training for the marathon I tended to let that part of my training slide, but I know that if I want to be a quality runner I cannot let that happen this time.

Today is the Third day, and already I have failed... I am sitting here eating a Mcdonalds whilst writing this, Double Cheese Burger, Large Fries, and Large Fat Coke, according to My Fitness Pal that is 1200 calories in total! (I am only meant to be having 1380 in a day!!)

Statistics:

Weight - 14.13 (I am going to purchase a measuring tape this weekend as I would prefer to see the results of inches as apposed to weight)

5K Official PB - 39.10 - Panshanger Park Run 25.12.15
5K Training/mid race PB - 36.27 - Silverstone Half Marathon 13.3.16
10K Official PB - 1:17:07 - Olympic Park 10K 13.12.15
10K Training/mid race PB - Not beaten Official

So that is it for today, I hope to pop in by the end of the week to say I have been far better with my eating and have completed a week of decent training!

Much Love
FBB xx
