Women's Running 10K Finsbury Park

Good afternoon,

As promised here is my race report from today's Women's Running UK 10K at Finsbury Park.  I ran this race last year, it was documented as a flat course... there is nothing flat about it, it is two laps of the park which has 4 noticeable hills in it.

Last year I completed it in 1:24:25 and I wanted to smash that this year, my most recent official PB was 1:15:00 at Regents Park and 1:13:57 flat 10k in training last week, I wasn't expecting to beat these but was looking forward to giving it a go.

Sinking in Quick Sand

Good afternoon my ever faithful readers... although I am unsure that anyone reads my rants anymore other than my coach Richard... still it helps me to write it all down.

So it has been a while again, and for this I appologise, but as the title states I have been sinking in quick sand.

Making Friends With Hills

Good evening!

So another week has passed, and another injury, crashed and burned at diet/no alcohol, made friends with hills and won some earmuffs to hold my bazookas... All will be revealed.

This weeks Long Run thought...

Its a beautiful sunny day, and it is lovely to meet friends and chat, BUT why the hell do you stand 5 people deep across a path, when there is grass fields on either side and there are people walking/running/cycling along said path!  AND no don't turn, look at me like I shouldn't be there and then get the huff if I run through you, I am not going to change my path when you are being the selfish ones!.....

Birthdays, Results and PBs

Good Evening Readers,

I am so sorry it has been so long!  The time has 'run away' from me .... boom boom!!  I have lots to tell you but first I wanted to share with you something...

I think I have told you that I no longer listen to music whilst I am out running, I like to just be with my own thoughts and take in my surroundings.  Well during my LSR I often come up with little sayings due to people I come across so here are a couple that I am sure some of you can relate to!

To the running snob:
I may not look like your typical runner, I may be slow,
but I guarantee that I am putting in just as much effort as you, if not more!

To those who do not acknowledge you:
If I smile at you, please have the decency to smile back, because smiling at you whilst trying to run my planned distance takes up so much effort it takes me far longer!
